Faster fibre broadband is now available to order in Great Ness via cabinet 5 in the Nesscliffe exchange, which serves about 30 premises in and around the village. Some premises in SY4 2JU now have access to a fibre broadband service.

To make the switch to fibre broadband, people will need to contact their chosen internet service provider to upgrade their broadband package, the broadband speeds won’t increase automatically.

Parishioners can visit: https://www.homeandbusiness.openreach.co.uk/fibre-broadband/when-can-i-get-fibre to check the availability of fibre broadband.

The fibre network that we’ve commissioned is open to all internet service providers, so we recommend that people shop around to get the best deal for them by using a comparison website, such as: https://www.uswitch.com/broadband/compare/fibre_optic/
