GREAT NESS AND LITTLE NESS PARISH COUNCIL RECEIVES AWARD IN NATIONAL SCHEME

Great Ness and Little Ness Parish Council achieved a prestigious award from the Local Council Award Scheme. The achievement recognises the Parish councils good practice in governance, community engagement and council improvement. The Award scheme recognises that the Council has gone above and beyond its legal obligations, leading their community and continuously seeking opportunities to improve and develop.

The Award Scheme report highlighted the council’s areas of strength, including its budgetary and precepting information which was clear and easy to understand. Its community publicity and engagement was helpful to those moving into the area. The Council’s Risk Management Policy was also clear and commendable. There was evidence of much good practice and the Panel commented that the award had been achieved with flying colours.

The Clerk reported that, she was “delighted the Parish Council had successfully obtained this award as it demonstrates their commitment to the community”. the council is now reviewing ways in which it can keep on improving its offer to the local community and welcomes input from local people and partners.

To celebrate this achievement, the council will be presented with the award at their Parish Council meeting on Tuesday 7 February 2017 at 7.30pm in Little Ness Village Hall, Little Ness.
